CS2 release brings on plenty of changes and one of those is the switch to MR12 in tournaments. For many players, MR12 Majors seem like an outlandish idea - but what will that system change mean in reality, and does it actually change a lot? To illustrate that, we simulated what would the results of BLAST.tv Paris Major be if it was played in MR12. Spoiler alert: only less than 7% of maps would have a different winner! Weapon drops: we all do them out of boredom during warmup, in an effort to fix misbuys or, most importantly, to support our teammates - but do they really help sway the round result? We decided to run the numbers and examine deeper the potential correlation between weapon drops and players’ Faceit level. As always, we used detailed data from over 160K of Faceit matches (meaning close to 4M rounds) played on all maps. Here is what the data says: First of all, nearly everyone drops weapons wit
Today we focus on the preferred map choices based on players’ Faceit rank. Does a higher skill level affect map choice? In this week’s analysis, we examined the relation between match duration, players Faceit levels, and map choice. Does the match take longer with the higher level of players because of fewer skill discrepancies? Or is it quicker, because everyone is more effective? Which maps to choose for a more even match at your current level? To make the data as accurate as possible, we analyzed 160109 matches and 3937938 rounds from Faceit on all maps, and here are the results! First of all, the averag
This week we analyzed Faceit matches with sole focus on their 2nd rounds of each half. We took into consideration over 300,000 rounds - only those in which the team losing the pistol round then spent over $1000 for equipment per player. So, what are the chances to win a force round after losing pistols? The results are in! Losing the pistol round makes the team face the tricky decision: to play the eco round or go force, surprising the enemy team with better equipment. Their economy, in most ca

Intentional team damage is a serious problem among all ranks in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. We decided to analyze how much team damage players make among all steam ranks. We expect that with the ranks increase, the number of damage dealt with guns decreases and the damage with the nades (mainly molotov and incendiary) increases. On the higher ranks, people more often decide to rush through their teammates’ molies.
