To be as accurate as possible, we’ve analyzed 7,557 matches, which gave us data from over 200,000 rounds.
On most maps, flashes are the most used nades. The only map on which pro players use smokes than flashes is Nuke. We’ve asked kuben, the legendary Virtus Pro’s coach about that.
“It's hard to blind your opponent from top bombing executions, even with perfect timings and a bit of luck. More often used individually to force the person defending the ramp or square to relocate and let go of the defended position.”
Nuke is also the map, on which pros’ are using the smallest number of grenades. The difference between Nuke and Inferno (the map with the highest amount of nades used during the round) is almost 3.5 grenades per round.
We found it very interesting that pro players use the most incendiary grenades on Inferno. Coincidence with the name? We don’t think so.
“Molotov - this is where Inferno reigns again. For good reason. The smoking cocktail allows the attacking team to gain more and more space on the map in default and is an integral part of executions on bombsite B.” - said Jakub Kuben Gurczyński
“HE is naturally the most rarely used grenade. As the chart shows - it is most often used on the inferno and nuke maps - because it is there that we have the greatest probability of dealing high damage to a larger group of enemies located in a small space.”
